Is your idea worth a million?
Marketing and selling your invention
Anne Ide, Inventor, and presently the Director of Marketing at Amcomm
Wireless a Verizon Wireless Master Retailer, began inventing in 1983 when
motherhood prompted another "good idea" for a desperately needed product.
The introduction of Comfy Wipe Warmer in 1988 was a huge success, selling
over 20,000 units its first year and growing to a multi-million dollar product
annually, thereafter.
After licensing the Comfy Wipe Warmer in 1990 to another manufacturer, Anne
continued to invent products and held invention seminars for would be inventors.
In 1996, the company that licensed the Comfy Wipe Warmer went out of business
due to critical financial errors, leaving Anne with the task of re-creating
her company and products under the name COMFY KIDS.
With shear determination, Anne re-launched a new, improved wipe warmer,
the Sammy The Seal Wipe Warmer with Nightlight, in 1997 and
steadily recaptured the wipe warmer market. In 1998, Anne launched another
patented product, The Food 'N Fun Tray. The Food 'N Fun Tray is the
less-mess, quick clean up solution for the big messes that toddlers make
during meals, snacks and creative play such as painting, playdoh and more.
In 1999, StrollSafe, the stroller safety & first aid kit for evening
strolls and daytime mishaps at the playground was launched.
Anne recently remarried and is the mother of two talented and handsome sons
and the stepmother of two beautiful young ladies. She resides with her husband,
Jeff, and family in Charlton, Massachusetts.
Her infectious smile and passion for inventing was shared through many speaking
engagements, television appearances and numerous magazines and newspapers
throughout the U.S. Her past television appearances included Ask The Pediatrician
on America's Health Network, the inventors segment of the Sally
Jesse Raphael Show, the syndicated news segment Smart Woman on
ABC, NBC, CBS & FOX stations nationally, NBC News in Boston (Mother
of Invention) and Providence (Women in the '90s), the Follow
Your Dreams show on cable and local Channel 3 News. Her most recent press
in print include American Baby, Success Magazine, Inventors
Digest, FIRST For Women Magazine, Small World Magazine,
Boston Business Journal and more. Anne was also inducted
into the Who's Who in Executives and Professionals for 2000.
