Allen Fletcher

Allen W. Fletcher, a Worcester native, is currently chairman and treasurer of Worcester Publishing, Ltd., publishers of Worcester Magazine, among other publications. He also serves as president and co-founder of the Greater Worcester Land Trust and as chairman of the Blackstone Canal Task Force.

Following his graduation from Harvard in 1969, Fletcher served in the Peace Corps in Senegal, West Africa, from 1969-1971; he subsequently received his Master’s degree in architecture from University of California, Berkeley in 1984 and for many years was a general contractor and designer/builder in Northern California. He has worn the hat of photographer as well; his photography has been exhibited and published. One of his most recent exhibitions was at the Worcester African Cultural Center. He has published numerous articles on urban design and is an instructor at Boston Architectural College.
