Sifleet, Esq., business attorney and certified public accountant, will give an update on Massachusetts law concerning classification of workers as contractors instead of employees, provide tips for protecting against business copycats, and answer questions in an open forum called, “Ask the Business Attorney.” Three-time entrepreneur Sifleet is head of the Business Practice Group of the Worcester-based law firm Hassett & Donnelly, PC, and the author of numerous articles and several books on business topics.

Before that, he spent the majority of his working career in managerial positions in the hospitality industry, working for Sheraton Corporation and the 99 Restaurants. An active member of the Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce, he serves on the board of directors, as a Chamber Ambassador, a member of the Leads Referral Group, and director of the AppleFest Road Race. He holds a B.S. in hotel administration from the University of New Hampshire.

Currently in her fifth term as a Massachusetts state representative, Rep. Polito has served the towns of Shrewsbury and Westborough since 2001.

Worcester Living, a regional lifestyle magazine published by the Telegram & Gazette, captures the many accomplishments and passions of individuals living in Central Massachusetts. Magazine stories cover topics such as travel & leisure, home & garden, fashion & beauty, food& wine and arts & culture.
Lamson has been in the newspaper business for more than 30 years. She has been managing editor at the Telegram & Gazette since 1986 and editor of Worcester Living since the magazine was launched in 2005. Lamson is a Central Massachusetts native and graduated from Simmons College in Boston.
In addition to Lamson’s talk, the annual Elaine Cencak Memorial scholarship will be presented to a student at a college or university in Worcester County that is majoring in a communications field.
